1982年に結成されたトリオ・ソネリーのオリジナル・メンバーであり、ベルリン芸術大学のチェンバロ科の教授としても活躍する華麗なるチェンバリスト、ミッツィ・メイヤーソン。リチャード・ジョーンズ、ゴットリーブ・ムファット、ジョヴァンニ・バッティスタ・ソミスなどの歴史に埋もれた鍵盤作品、室内楽作品を続々と発掘してきたメイヤーソンが、イギリス・バロック、ジョン・ジョーンズ(1728-1796)の「8つのレッスン集」をレコーディング!
18世紀イギリスのオルガニスト、チェンバリストであり、セント・ポール大聖堂のオルガン奏者としても活躍するなど、イギリスの音楽史に確かな足跡を残したジョン・ジョーンズ。1754年に出版された「8つのレッスン集」は、シチリアーナ、アルマンド、ガヴォット、メヌエットなど舞曲の楽章を持ち、またヘンデルからの影響を感じさせるイギリス・バロックの知られざる秀作。メイヤーソンが奏でるイギリスの名工マイケル・ジョンソンが2011年に製作したハープシコードを通じて、18世紀イギリス、ジョン・ジョーンズの音楽が華麗に、多彩に、そして溌剌と躍動します。
