The second of two EPs reimagining songs from the Soft Moon's excellent 2015 album, Deeper Remixed, Vol. 2 features remixes by artists on Berlin's [aufnahme + wiedergabe] label. Interestingly, this volume includes work by more veteran producers than the previous one, boasting Trentemoller's percolating, sinister interpretation of "Black," and a wraith-like version of "Wrong" courtesy of Dave Clarke, both of which are among the highlights of both EPs. Elsewhere, Fango's pummeling take on "Deeper" itself and Ninos du Brasil's serpentine remix of "Feel" continue the project's mission to transform Luis Vasquez's insular, deeply personal meditations on despair and isolation into techno-informed workouts that lose none of their emotional impact. Like the first volume, Deeper Remixed, Vol. 2 honors the spirit of the album while giving it new dimensions. ~ Heather Phares
