Stylishly retro California crooner Chris Isaak delivers his 13th album of melodic, traditionalist pop/rock with 2015's First Comes the Night. The "Wicked Game" singer's first album of all-original material since 2009's Mr. Lucky, First Comes the Night also follows up his acclaimed covers tribute to Sun Records, 2011's Beyond the Sun. Recorded in Nashville with longtime producer Mark Needham, as well as Paul Worley (Dixie Chicks, Lady Antebellum) and Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell), First Comes the Night finds Isaak returning to the twangy, '60s-influenced style of his early albums. Included on First Comes the Night are the title track single along with spotlight tracks "Please Don't Call" and "Reverie," featuring backing vocals from Michelle Branch. ~ Matt Collar
