While all their major hits are here unedited, some choice ones (i.e., "Is It Too Late" and "Remember What I Told You to Forget") are not. Instead, EMI chose some tracks not often available on these sets (i.e., "Slow Train to Paradise" and "The Ghost of Love"). The Dutch collection The Best of Tavares more or less lives up to its name, gathering 16 examples of the group's funk/disco sound, including "It Only Takes a Minute," "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel," "More Than a Woman," "Never Had a Love Like This Before," and "She's Gone." This compilation has a virtually identical (though reshuffled) track listing to Capitol Gold: The Best of Tavares, so it may not be of much interest to American Tavares fans, but nevertheless, this is a strong collection of hits and album tracks. ~ Heather Phares
