This box set includes remastered versions of three of the Cowboy Junkies' Zoe albums: 2001's Open, 2004's One Soul Now, and 2007's At the End of Paths Taken. A fourth disc, entitled Notes Falling Slow, is made up entirely of new songs. They were written during the various sessions for the aforementioned albums but either never completed -- some not even demo'ed -- or deemed misfits and left unfinished until now. Guitarist/songwriter Michael Timmins cites the single "Cold Evening Wind" as a prime example. There had been several failed attempts at recording the song, but he claims that they only got it right for this project. ~ Thom Jurek
