R&B/ヒップホップと融和を図りながら伝統と革新を行き交うジャズ・ピアニストの新作は、2部構成だった前作の〈Experiment〉サイドを発展させたクァルテット形式での録音。しかも今回は、ビラル、レイラ・ハサウェイ、レディシ、ミュージック・ソウルチャイルド、モス・デフなど、スタジオ内外で交流を深めてきたネオ・ソウル勢やMCをほぼ全曲に迎え、アーバン・ゲットーのいまを切り取ったジャズを展開する。シャーデーやデヴィッド・ボウイ、ニルヴァーナの曲を取り上げるオルタナティヴな感性も彼ならではだが、エリカ・バドゥが歌うモンゴ・サンタマリア曲のリメイク“Afro Blue"など、メロウなローズと研ぎ澄まされたピアノの音色で表現されるブルーな情感が、とにかく素晴らしい。
