Originally released as two separate albums, ENNEA and PURE MUSIC. Personnel: Dartanyan Brown, Jim Peterik (vocals); John Emma, Angel South (guitar); Bill Chase (trumpet, electric trumpet, flugelhorn); Jerry VanBlair, Joe Morrissey, Alan Ware, Jim Oatts, Ted Piercefield (trumpet); Phil Porter (organ); Wally Yohn (keyboards); Gary Smith, Tom Gordon, Jay Burrid (drums). Arrangers: Angel South; Ted Piercefield; Bill Chase; Charlie Brent. One Way reissued Chase's third and fourth albums, Ennea and Pure Music, on one disc in 1997. Neither of the records are among the group's best, but for fans the disc is a blessing of sorts, since it puts two records that have been out of circulation for years -- and unavailable on CD -- back in print on CD. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
