This Earthworks release is an excellent and varied anthology, though the groups are more familiar. It includes two cuts from The Four Brothers, encountered at greater length on a Cooking Vinyl release. This is the first release encountered from a very fine mainstream band: Zimbabwean street-pop to the core, neither experimenters like Mapfumo, nor expatriate-Zairian like The Real Sounds. It's amazing how clear a continuum runs down from Kenya to South Africa, the music changing gradually as you move south. ~ John Storm Roberts, Original Music
