The soul of Ireland becomes universal when it resonates in Frances Black's tremulous soprano, beautifully embodied in "All The Lies That You Told Me," a song that could easily pass for a traditional Nasvhille ballad. Eleanor Shanley sings in an aggressive folk-rock-based Denny/Thompson/Tabor mold. The group Anuna provides a trance-like, chant-like trant. The most familar track is Clannad's spacey "Harry's Game," the Grammy-nominated theme from the popular British television show. You won't find the tortured souls of Van Morrison, Sinead O'Connor or the Cranberries here. What you will find is vigorous, contemporary Irish folk and new age music that pulsates with a lighter Celtic heartbeat.
