This performance comes from John Mellencamp's own ‘Belmont Mall' studios in the hamlet of Belmont Indiana on the 10th July 1987 just after work on ‘The Lonesome Jubilee' concluded. The band give a stunning performance of songs from the album including three of its singles ‘Paper in Fire' ‘Cherry Bomb' and ‘Rooty Toot Toot' all of which proved to be chart hits. Alongside material from ‘The Lonesome Jubilee' the set includes some of Mellencamp's best-known tracks including ‘Pink Houses' and an acoustic rendition of ‘Small Town'. Broadcast on ‘Timothy White's Rockstars' radio show the recording also includes interviews with Mellencamp in which he discusses his work and the forthcoming album.
