Liner Note Author: Michael Highton. Recording information: Lux Radio Theatre, Hollywood (02/05/1945); Screen Directors Playhouse, Hollywood (02/05/1945); Lux Radio Theatre, Hollywood (04/17/1949); Screen Directors Playhouse, Hollywood (04/17/1949). The two memorable movies of note here are the 1944 Otto Preminger noir classic, Laura, and the 1946 William Wyler-directed winner of seven Academy Awards, The Best Years of Our Lives. These 1940s radio broadcast recordings are from transcriptions of the films later performed by much of the casts from the films, with a few changes; the radio Laura features Dana Andrews, Gene Tierney, Vincent Price, and Otto Kruger, and The Best Years of Our Lives stars Dana Andrews and Janet Waldo. ~ Marcy Donelson
