Though not markedly different than the band's Amrep debut, in fact not different at all, just louder, Sucked In, Blown Out carries on Lollipop's herky-jerky MC5 meets Pussy Galore stomp and wail, and does so with aplomb. Once again, any attempt to decipher Marc's vocals would end in failure; nary a word is comprehensible, and without a doubt, that's precisely the vibe he's going for. Sucked In, Blown Out is the sound of four garage musicians carrying on powerfully, energetically, spastically, without a care in the world; not caring whether anyone is listening, watching, buying, or even paying remote attention. In other words, folks, this truly is garage rock without any retro posing - just guitar, bass, vocals, and drums hammering it out indifferent to the outside world. Due to a number of reasons, least of which was the band's illogical geographical issues - each member lived in a different state, Lollipop called it quits after this quick, feisty gem. ~ Patrick Kennedy
