OH WHAT A LOVELY PIE is a successful combination of hard-rocking and catchy tunes that hasn't been accomplished with such accuracy since the Ramones broke the scene in 1976. In true Psychos fashion, the songs here celebrate the seedier underbelly of everyday life, as well as vermin, food fetishes, and gun control. "They took my gun away" they sing on "Guns Away." Maybe so, but the Psychos still have one effective weapon--their music. OH WHAT A LOVELY PIE is an aural assault, and though the Psychos follow a well-beaten rock & roll path, they treat traditional punk rock with a deft and intense precision that brings the freshness back to an old sound.
