During his visit to Norway, veteran tenorman Red Holloway teamed up with the fine fortyish tenor Knut Riisnaes for a frequently exciting bop-oriented set. With excellent accompaniment from Kjell Ohman on piano and organ, bassist Terje Venaas and drummer Egil Johansen, Holloway and Riisnaes jam on "All Blues," "Billie's Bounce," "Confessin' the Blues" and Johansen's "Aros 90"; in addition Holloway is showcased on "Willow Weep for Me" and the cooler-toned Riisnaes is featured on "My Romance." Red (who switches to alto on "Billie's Bounce") has a more passionate sound but to his credit Riisnaes swings just as hard. A fun set. ~ Scott Yanow
