2014年、結成30周年を迎えた米ホーボーケン出身のアイラ・カプラン(Vo,G)とジョージア・ハブレー(Vo, D)、ジェームズ・マクニュー(Vo, B)による3ピースバンド、ヨ・ラ・テンゴがニュー・ アルバム『スタッフ・ライク・ザット・ゼア』をリリース!!2015年現在までに13作のスタジオ・アルバムを発表し日本はもちろん世界中で音楽ファンに愛されている彼らが、初期メンバーの1人であるデイビット・ シュラムを再びレコーディング・メンバーとして迎え4ピースでレコーディングを敢行!プロデューサーには初期作品を手掛けたジーン・ホルダーを起用!ちょうど25年前にリリースしたカバー集『フェイクブック』のコンセプトに立ち戻り、 ザ・キュアーの名曲「Friday I'm in Love」やハンク・ウィリアムズ、ザ・パーラメンツのカバーの他、過去曲のセルフカバー、そして新曲2曲が収録された作品が誕生!!サウンドも初期に近いアコースティックが主体の作品し仕上がっており、全ヨ・ラ・テンゴファン必須の1枚が完成!!

カヴァーを中心とする90年作『Fakebook』のコンセプトに立ち戻り、キュアーやパーラメンツ曲、さらにセルフ・リメイクまで披露したスペシャルな一枚が登場! しかも、初期メンバーのデヴィッド・シュラムが復帰し、プロデュースは89年の『President Yo La Tengo』などを手掛けたジーン・ホルダーですよ! ということで、凝った音響処理はほどほどに、アコースティックを核とした優しい音が楽しめ、思わずホロッと。
