ジャマイカ産のスカやロックステディを好んで聴いていたUKのスキンズたち。彼らのようなブルー・カラーの若者たちに愛された初期のレゲエ・サウンドはスキンヘッズ・レゲエと呼ばれていた。オルガンをサウンドの中心におき、ギター・カッティングを強調したそんなサウンドを当時大量生産していたのがリー・ペリー先生。未発表音源を加えてこのたびリイシューされたこの69年作は、後のダブ作品にも通じるキテレツな名作です。
