壮大なテーマによる"アングリー・プラネット"!

いま世界の合唱シーンで最も活発な活動を繰り広げているイギリスの作曲家ボブ・チルコット(1955-)。続々と大ヒット作品を生み出し、日本でもさらに人気、知名度が高まっているチルコットの「環境」という壮大なテーマを題材としたカンタータ「アングリー・プラネット」は、バッハ・クワイアーからの委嘱によって作曲され、2012年のBBCプロムスで初演された作品。4部から成る「アングリー・プラネット」は、児童合唱団、室内合唱団、2つの混声合唱団を要するテーマ、規模ともに壮大なスケールを誇る大作である。
印刷技術の発明、奴隷制度の廃止、世界初の人力飛行、ペニシリンの発見、人類初の宇宙飛行という5つの歴史的出来事を表現した「世界を変えた5つの日」、名門オックスフォード・モードリン・カレッジ合唱団のために書かれた「春の奇跡」を含む3作品は、どれもチルコット・ファン、合唱関係者必聴!
