エレクトリック・ジャズ路線を推し進め、リズム面においても革命をもたらしたマイルス・デイビスの革新的名作『Bitches Brew』。2010年に40周年記念エディションとしてリリースされた3CD+DVDをブックセットにして再リリース。1969～1970年録音。収録曲の大半が20分台という長尺、LP2枚組という非商業的なパッケージ、そして何よりもその強烈なエレクトリック路線、ロック・リズムの大胆な導入によって「世紀の問題作」と言われた本作。ジャズ系のラジオ局よりもアンダーグラウンドなロック系ラジオ局でオンエアされ、売上を急上昇させたこのアルバムは、マイルスにとって初のゴールドディスク獲得アルバムとなったもの。
