イディル・ビレットにとって、シューマン(1810-1856)は特別な存在です。例えばCD8に収録されている「幻想小曲集 Op.12」は1959年に彼女がパリでLPに収録したもの。当時17歳であった彼女の瑞々しい感性は、2000年に再録した同じ曲にも見事に引き継がれています。また若き彼女が演奏した「クライスレリアーナ」はアルトゥール・ルービンシュタインに絶賛されました。ピアニストとして経歴を積み重ねている彼女ですが、その節目節目には必ずシューマンがあったと言っても過言ではありません。そんなビレットのシューマン、最初のピアノ協奏曲から魅了されること間違いありません。独特の歌いまわしとリズム感には痺れます。名手ヴィトの振るオーケストラも彼女にぴったりと合わせています。CD8は若き彼女のラジオ・インタビューを含む興味深い内容です。ベートーヴェンとは違った面持ちを魅せるビレットのシューマン。これは面白いです。
