Sneaky Feelings were not among the best-known New Zealand bands during Flying Nun's heyday, but they were highly rated by those who followed the scene. Their clean, sometimes jangly, sometimes wimpy guitar sound recalled late-period Orange Juice and the less-powerful pop of the Shoes. Many fans consider Send You, Sneaky Feelings' eight-song debut, to be their best album. The Sentimental Education CD, with many strong single tracks appended, is overall the superior package, but Send You boasts a few classics ("Waiting for Touchdown," "Won't Change") and a more moody and downcast disposition than the later albums. The 1992 reissue adds three unremarkable new songs recorded in 1990 with a different lineup. ~ Greg Adams|
