バンベルク響をはじめとするドイツのオーケストラの若手奏者により2009年に結成されたホルン四重奏団“ジャーマン・ホルン・サウンド”。今作はホルン奏者4人と打楽器奏者を迎えて、ホルン八重奏&打楽器で“展覧会の絵”をメインにロシアの偉大な作曲家たちの名曲を取り上げています。重厚感があり、8本のホルンによる絶妙なハーモニー。骨太ながら柔軟性に富む明朗な音色です。

素晴らしい演奏で、良い企画と思います。展覧会の絵が細かくわかれていて、途中の3曲が収録されていないのが何とも残念。普通に全曲を通しで収録しなかったのは何か事情があるのでしょうか？
