'Nightingale' is the second album from London based folk outfit Erland & The Carnival. Formed by multi-instrumentalist Simon Tong (The Verve, Blur) and David Nock (The Firemen) alongside lead singer and namesake Erland Cooper, the band expand their repertoire of rearranged folk songs with the lyrics for 'Map Of An Englishman' inspired by artwork of Grayson Perry . Crossing genres with jaunty guitars, organs and Cooper's deep-set vocals that create a garage rock feel to the otherwise unique, folky sound.

商品の紹介

Q - 4 stars out of 5 -- "Cinematic, crammed full of literary allusions, odd time signatures and matured-in-wood musical textures, NIGHTINGALE is a record that will haunt you if you let it." Uncut - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[T]he unpredictable, symphonic arrangements of 'Emmeline' and the title track make exciting connections between ancient and modern with a dark nonchalance." Paste - "it's a heady headphones album, and songs like 'So Tired in the Morning' and 'This Night' thrum with life, erudite in their choice of source material and inventive in their new combinations."
