ON THE LOOSE is a collection of man-on-the-street interviews and pranks conducted by Jim Coyle and Mal Sharpe for their radio show on KGO-FM in San Franciso, California between 1963 and 1965.
Coyle & Sharpe: Jim Coyle, Mal Sharpe.
Recorded between 1963 and 1965.
James Coyle and Mal Sharpe were not so much comedians as they were humorous psychological terrorists. They took their comedy out into the streets, removing the middlemen of stage and microphone. Throughout the '60s the two men roamed the California streets, sucking innocent passersby into their elaborate, absurd schemes, and recording the results with a discreetly placed microphone.
On "The Druggist," the duo attempts to purchase supplies from a pharmacist for an amateur operation, much to the consternation of the unwitting shopkeeper. "Human Leech" finds the pair trying to convince their victim to submit to an experiment involving attachment to a giant parasitic creature. The mild-mannered, average Joe bearing of Coyle & Sharpe is the mask that sucks in the duo's targets and the twist that makes their recorded antics so hilarious.
録音 : モノラル/ステレオ (Studio/Live)
