The fourth album by Cassia Eller, a rock/pop singer with a distinctive and potent low timbre voice, began as an acoustic show (three acoustic guitars, including hers, with occasional interchanges with electric bass and guitar), where her 1994' release Cassia Eller was promoted. This album got near MPB, with the interpretation of "Na cadencia do samba" (Ataulfo Alves), "Corone Antonio Bento" (Luiz Wanderley/Joao do Vale, included in the first album by Tim Maia), and "O gosto do amor" (non-credited in the inlay, by Gonzaguinha). Her performances for the samba and the baioes can't be measured in the challenging terms of their specific genres, as she opted for a free rereading through the acoustic rock standards, but still work as a sincere tribute. "Eu sou neguinha" was her first performance for a Caetano Veloso tune, and she was the first to re-record it. The only new track is "Nenhum Roberto" (by Titas' Nando Reis), a tribute for the cheesy and highly successful romantic singer/composer Roberto Carlos. "Nos," with its flamenco accent, reveals a singer exploring not only her potent vocal qualities, but also a performer concerned with dynamics. The album sold 126,000 copies. ~ Alvaro Neder
