「アメリカ最高峰のロックの印象派」(米ローリングストーン誌)等と評される、シカゴ出身ロック・バンド＜WILCO / ウィルコ＞の頭脳、ジェフ・トゥイーディ(vo,g)が、18歳の息子スペンサーとのプロジェクトを始動!
「このアルバム作りをスタートした時はソロを考えていた。しかし自分にとってソロとは”全てを自分でこなす”ということで、この作品はデモ段階からスペンサーが協力してくれていた。だから今作はソロというよりデュオなんだ。」―ジェフ・トゥイーディ
スペンサーは、既にバンド活動や映像監督、カメラマン等をこなすマルチ・アーティストで、ウィルコの「ホール・ラヴ」ミュージック・ビデオを監督していることでも有名だが、そんな若き才能とジェフのタッグによる本作は本家ウィルコに勝るとも劣らない内容となっており、2014年結成20周年を迎えるウィルコのファンにとっても必聴のアルバムだ。
また、アルバム収録曲「サマー・ヌーン」は、アメリカで2014年7月公開の映画『Boyhood(原題)』(映画『スクール・オブ・ロック』等のリチャード・リンクレイター監督)にも起用されている。

ウィルコのジェフ・トゥイーディがマルチ・アーティストとしても活躍する息子のスペンサー(18歳)と組んだデュオのファースト・アルバムだ。闘病中の妻の名をもじったタイトルからは家族の絆が強く感じられるが、暗さはなく、スコット・マッコーヒーなど気の合う仲間と共にリラックスしたフォーキー・サウンドを展開。時折ウィルコ本隊っぽい実験性を覗かせたりするのもピリリと効いている。
