アリソン・クラウスとの共演盤『Raising Sand』以来、好調をキープし続けるロバート・プラント。〈サマソニ〉出演も記憶に新しいなか登場したこの新作は、近年活動を共にしているセンセーショナル・スペース・シフターズ(メンバーにはジャスティン・アダムスの名も!)とガップリ組み、ほぼ全編オリジナル曲で勝負に出ています。オリエンタルなギターの響く“Pocketful Of Golden”はツェッペリン“Kashmir”が老成したような出来だし、〈砂漠のブルース〉やグナワ音楽にふたたび接近しながら聴き手をトランス状態に誘うナンバーもあれば、カラッと小気味良いブルーグラス曲もあり、どの年代のファンも大満足させる一枚に。貫禄と余裕が滲み出ていて、理想的な歳の取り方をしているな～とつくづく。
