アメリカの現代音楽を代表する女流作曲家、オーガスタ・リード・トーマス(b.1964)の録音シリーズ第3弾ではサクソフォンの世界的巨匠、フレデリック・ヘムケの為に書かれた「ヘムケ協奏曲」を、ヘムケ本人が演奏。雲井雅人やジャズではデヴィッド・サンボーンもヘムケの門下生である。
