This is the second album from innovative husband and wife team Michael and Katlyn Breene, who combine exotic gypsy rhythms, meditative New Age ambience and uplifting trance vibes to create the Zingaia sound. The track "Divine Flame" has a relaxing late night dance vibe with the faintest undercurrent of David Lynch-style eeriness underneath, hinting at the unexplored mysteries that rhythm can awaken in the soul. "At the Window" takes things in a more ambient direction, with spine-chilling chimes and drowsy, half-whispered vocals. "Dark Eros" explores this style further, with an eerie echo effect recalling a midnight gypsy initiation ceremony conducted deep in prehistoric caves. "Magus" features a tonally-altered vocal chant destined to plunge the attuned into a strange new level of trance awareness, while "Ondine" plunges into a twisting, constantly evolving sea of rhythm and seduction.
