The Capitol Steps recorded these live performances around the time of the 1994 presidential election, though they cover a lot of ground away from politics. Unfortunately, the sequencing isn't as strong as on many of their releases, jumping back and forth between a variety of subjects without providing much continuity. That said, some of the non-political tracks are very funny: "Euro Pest" (where two arrogant Frenchmen chase off tourists from the rather unsuccessful EuroDisney park), "You Can Suture Yourself at Home" and "You Must Have Been a Biotech Baby" (which cover the future of health care), and "Time for Killin' Barney" (an Irish jig that recommends the demise of the idiotic public TV character). But the political musical spoofs are just not as memorable as on many of the group's releases, in part because there isn't as much emphasis on mimicking their respective targets. Therefore, this CD cannot be considered one of the Capitol Steps' essential recordings. ~ Ken Dryden
