With Bill Clinton taking over as president in 1993, he naturally became the center of attention for the latest collection of musical parodies by the witty collective known as the Capitol Steps. Mike Tilford, who sings as Clinton, is brilliant in the Elvis Presley-flavored "The Joy of Sax" and the low-key duet with Ann Schmitt (as the First Lady) in "I've Taken Stands on Both Sides Now," as well as the wild spoof "Secret Ozone Man." Schmitt is superb in "Why's Madonna Kissing Santa Claus?" and Bob Dylan fans will howl and recognize themselves in middle age (or possibly just protest) after hearing "Like a Suburban Drone." The excessive overall focus on Clinton and a few weak tracks make this CD a cut below most of the releases recorded by the Capitol Steps during the 1990s, though it is still well worth picking up. ~ Ken Dryden
