Recorded in the south of France, World Peace Is None of Your Business is the tenth studio album from Morrissey and follows 2009's Years of Refusal. Produced by Joe Chiccarelli, it tones down the powerful, rock-oriented approach that the late Jerry Finn brought to his previous album. Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Jesse Tobias retained his central role in Morrissey's backing band for the album's sessions, and the percussion-led single and title track open proceedings. ~ James Wilkinson

2009年に『Years Of Refusal』を発表して以来、レーベル契約がなかったモリッシー。自主で……なんてことはプライドが許すわけもなく(!?)、ようやく名門ハーヴェストと契約を交わし、U2やストロークスを手掛けたジョー・チッカレリをプロデューサーに招いて、パリ録音の新作をリリースした。この屈辱的な5年間で作り溜めたであろう曲の数々はクォリティーが高く、前作に比べるとアルバムを通して美しいメロディーをじっくり聴かせ、スパニッシュなフレイヴァーも良いスパイスに。とはいえ、バンド・サウンドはヘヴィーかつロッキッシュ、モリッシーのパフォーマンスは不屈の闘志と歌う喜びに満ちている。挑発的なタイトルも含め、堂々たる帰還を告げるに相応しい充実作だ。
