全曲をまとめあげ緊迫感に満ちたペトルー指揮による演奏

ジョルジュ・ペトルーとアルモニア・アテネアによるベートーヴェン録音は、序曲ばかりが有名で全曲はあまり演奏されることのないバレエ音楽「プロメテウスの創造物」。1800年から1801年にかけて作曲され、すぐさまウィーンのホーフブルク劇場で初演されました。しかし、すぐに忘れられてしまい、現在では序曲が時折演奏されるのみです。この曲の名前が話題に上るのは、終曲のメロディがそのまま、交響曲第3番の終楽章と、ピアノのための変奏曲の主題に転用されていることでしょうか。ペトルーは全曲をきっちりと引き締め、緊迫感に満ちた素晴らしい音楽を聞かせています。ベートーヴェン自身は気に入っていたであろうこの作品を、ぜひ全曲盤でお楽しみください。
