タイトルやアートワークを含め、すべてが完璧。西海岸の光と影を浮き立たせたダークなモノクロ映画を観ているようだ。わかりやすいモダン・ポップ感はなくなり、ダン・オーバックが的確かつ丹念に編み込んだ音と重苦しいスロウなメロディーに乗せて、主人公のラナはどこまでも憂鬱で悲痛な歌を聴かせる。これほど女優的な歌手がいま他にいるだろうか!? デヴィッド・リンチ映画が好きな人に特にオススメです。
