Whispers is the fifth studio release from British singer/songwriter Michael Rosenberg, better known by his stage name Passenger. Following the worldwide chart success of 2013 single "Let Her Go," Rosenberg enlisted co-producer Chris Vallejo -- who worked on fourth album All the Little Lights -- to assist him again here. ■Passenger: 1984年5月17日生まれ、イギリスのイースト・サセックス出身のフォーク・ロック・シンガー・ソングライター。本名はMichael David Rosenberg、 ステージ・ネームのPassengerとして広く知られている。PassengerはMichaelがかつて所属、2009年に解散したバンドの名前だが、現在もソロ・アーティストの際にも使用している。
■バックグランド: イギリス人の母、ニュージャージー出身のユダヤ系アメリカ人の父の下に生まれる。幼い頃にクラシック・ギターを学び、14歳の頃にはオリジナル楽曲を書き始めていた。学業よりも音楽を優先する人生を選択、16歳でPassenger(バンド)を結成した。
■Passengerの最大のヒット曲と言えば・・・: 2012年7月にオーストラリアのLinear Recordingからリリースされた'Let Her Go'は、オーストラリア、オーストリア、ベルギー、チェコ共和国、デンマーク、フィンランド、ドイツ、ギリシャ、アイルランド、イスラエル、イタリア、ルクセンブルグ、メキシコ、ニュージーランド、ノルウェイ、スウェーデン、スイスで1位、イギリスで2位、アメリカ(全米シングル・チャート)で5位を記録。2014年のBRIT Awardsでは、年間最優秀シングルにノミネートされた。
