This release must be considered an adjunct to a Russ Morgan fan's library, rather than a primary purchase. Drawn from transcriptions made on eight different occasions over more than 12 years and sequenced nonchronologically, it contains 25 tracks from Morgan's sweet band, with a running time of 65 minutes. Only one selection, "Good Night, Wherever You Are," tis a re-creation of one of Morgan's Top Ten hits, made around the time of the studio recording. Among the other selections are a few standards, notably "Alexander's Ragtime Band" and the World War II favorite "No Love, No Nothin'," though most of the material is minor. Morgan has nine vocals, and Phyllis Lynn is heard on three tracks. Sound quality is good. ~ William Ruhlmann|
