The CHINESE BURN EP collects five lengthy remixes of the first single from Curve's COME CLEAN album, plus Flood's original album mix, that album's title track and the otherwise unavailable "Robbing Charity." The remixes, by such dance floor heavyweights as Steve Osborne, Paul Van Dyk, and Witchman, tend to be radically different both from each other and their originals. The "Lunatic Calm" mix is the most changed. The song's My Bloody Valentine-goes-techno vibe makes it an accurate foretaste of COME CLEAN, the Toni Halliday/Dean Garcia reunion album which directs their earlier, miasmic music into a tighter, more immediate presentation. Like most remix EPs, however, CHINESE BURN is primarily for the already converted.
