After the Top Ten-charting Vive en Mi, hardcore norteno band La Maquinaria Nortena deliver their first career retrospective in Los Mejor de la Maquinaria Nortena. This 20-track collection dates back to 2007 and their first album after saxophonist Keith Nieto split with Polo Urias and his brothers in the original version of the band. This better-known version of the group, with Nieto's brothers Rory on accordion and Tony on drums, Ivan Gutierrez on bass, and Randy Perez on electric guitar, is fronted by vocalist Sergio "Fly" Soto. The hits, though divided from their previous four recordings, slant toward the latter two, and include "Dejame Miedo," "Mi Rutina," "Inevitable," "Y Yo Que," "Habia un Camino," and the romantic "Quiero Decirtelo." The album entered Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart at number five. This is an opportunity to get all the singles -- and them some -- in one well-curated set. ~ Thom Jurek
