Anne Murray is the vocalist's 30th album and, unlike some of the ones that immediately preceded it, this record is carefully assembled and produced. Murray always straddled the line between country-pop and adult contemporary pop and, with this album, she abandons country for smooth, easy listening pop, designed for adults. For the most part, the results are successful. Producer Ed Cherney has crafted some meticulous arrangements that are easy on the ears and the duet with Aaron Neville on "That's What My Love Is For" is a nice touch. Of course, that means the music is never ear-grabbing, but as pleasant background music Anne Murray works. ~ Rodney Batdorf
