随所で意表を突かれる5作目。まずは冒頭のセクシー・ヴォイスにヤラれ、“Ex-Boyfriend”でアナログ・シンセの心地良い音色にときめく。かと思えば、聴き進めるうちに生楽器主体のバンド・サウンドへと回帰していることに気付き、最後にはこれまであれだけ連発していたワード〈DISCO〉をタイトルのわりに発していない事実に驚く。キャリアを取っ払い、踊れるロックをフラットに見つめ直したような一枚。
