These live prewar radio recordings from New York and Chicago span the Latin rhythms of "Frenesi" and "Perfidia," the relaxed cocktail balladry of "I Give You My Word," in which Kay Perry's vocals are peppered with Fats Waller's wisecracks, and an extended instrumental workout on "The Sheik of Araby." This is Waller heard in his element, at his most relaxed and inventive.
