Though it's only a five-track EP, this is an all-killer, no-filler collection of music by some of the greatest living salsa giants. On one evening during the summer of 2012 at the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival, Sergio George produced a salsa jam that resulted in a documentary film narrated by John Leguizamo. The music here includes two long grand jams to open and close the set. The opener, "Bajo la Tormenta," features Jose "El Canario" Alberto, Willy Chirino, Oscar D'Leon, Cheo Feliciano, Andy Montanez, La India, Ismael Miranda, and Tito Nieves. Montanez delivers the cooking "Un Verano en Nueva York," followed by D'Leon on "Lloraras." Luis Enrique answers with "Quedate y Desesperado." The set comes to a close with the house-burning "Para Celebrar," which includes most of the above and also features Marc Anthony, Nora, and Charlie Zaa. The music here is exceptional in both performance and sound quality, and should be investigated by all hardcore salsa fans. ~ Thom Jurek
