The group, led as always by singers Paul Young and Paul Carrack, stretches itself quite a bit over the course of these 13 songs. "Another Cup of Cup," which recalls Carrack's short-lived stint in Squeeze, is a highlight, as is the soulful "Over My Shoulder." "The Ghost of Sex and You," one of the few Mechanics songs that vaguely recalls Mike Rutherford's day job (Genesis), is an oddity. So are covers of the standard "I Believe (When I Fall in Love it Will Be Forever)"--really quite good--and Smokey Robinson's "You Really Got a Hold on Me"--really quite terrible--and the AOR-styled title track. The high points outweigh the low, overall.
