Shriek is the fourth album from indie rock duo Wye Oak, and it comes three years after their hugely successful third effort Civilian. Here guitarist and vocalist Jenn Wasner has eschewed the guitar parts that typified their sound, and instead picked up the bass guitar, leaving drummer and multi-instrumentalist Andy Stack to provide much of the melody. The resulting sound is a departure from their Americana-influenced indie sound, and toward an electronic direction, illustrated on single "The Tower." ~ Scott Kerr
