For a brief time, saxophonist Maceo Parker split off from his regular gig as James Brown's sideman and led the ultra-tight, super-funky All the King's Men. This classic 1970 release was the first of only two recordings, and it showcases Parker's playing as well as a smoking rhythm section (also borrowed from the JBs) on songs like "Shake It Baby" and "Funky Women."
