Director Kenneth Branagh took a stylistic left turn with this reincarnation mystery, prompting composer Patrick Doyle to make an equally dramatic shift in his writing and production. The result is a sumptuous musical production that applies a '90s musculature to music that could easily have been written in the '40s. Doyle is one of the better film composers to have appeared since 1985, working mainly with Branagh (who thankfully avoids concessions to the commercial music markets). Dead Again is an excellent score with marvelous concert potential, and will likely come to be considered a classic. ~ Steven McDonald|

製作総指揮シドニー・ポラック、そしてケネス・プラナー監督・主演のハリウッド・デビュー作とのこと。殺人者と被害者として愛を成就できずにともに死んだ夫婦が４０年後に転生し自らの謎を解くスリラー。音楽はパトリック・ドイルが担当。カルト的、ミステリアス、幻想的で重くのしかかるようなサウンドの連続だがふと心安まるメロディもありなかなかの展開となっている。そして何よりも緊迫感は充分に伝わってくるサウンド構成と一部コーラスを混じえたスリル満点の盛り上がり方は凄いと思う。
