ジョン・タヴナーの大作《神殿の幕》が復活!

2013年11月に急逝したイギリスの神秘主義の作曲家ジョン・タヴナー(1944-2013)。総演奏時間は7～8時間に及ぶというタヴナーの大作であり最高傑作の1つ、「神殿の幕(神殿のヴェール)」のコンサート・ヴァージョンが、シグナム・クラシックス(Signum Classics)から復活!テンプル教会聖歌隊からの委嘱により作曲され、2003年6月に初演が行われた「神殿の幕」は、ヒンドゥーのリズムやスーフィーのリズムなど様々な要素を採り入れており、タヴナーが目指した宗教音楽の頂上に位置する作品である。指揮者は合唱王国イギリスの名匠スティーヴン・レイトン。テンプル教会聖歌隊とホルスト・シンガーズの歌声が、タヴナーの芸術の真髄を教えてくれる。
