90年代UKのギターバンド、オトゥールズのデビューアルバム『New Wave』(93 年)に盛りだくさんのボーナストラックを追加した拡大エディション2枚組デジパック仕様。オトゥールズはソングライターでもあるギター&ボーカルのルーク・へインズ率いる4人組。本アルバムからは「Showgirl」「How I Could Be Wrong」の2枚をシングルリリースしている。ギターポップ・ブームのさきがけとなったバンドのひとつ。ディスク1にはオリジナルアルバムに加え、主要シングルのB面トラック、ディスク2にはレアなアコースティック・バージョン、ラジオセッション、デモを収録。スリーブノーツはヘインズが最近書き下ろしたもの。

With their 1993 debut album, New Wave, the Auteurs established themselves as one of England's best guitar bands of the early '90s. Driven by the bittersweet, ironic songwriting of Luke Haines, the band's carefully crafted, three-minute pop songs are in the vein of the Kinks, the Smiths and the Beatles, particularly the songs of George Harrison.
