2011年まで26年間にわたりイギリスの名門校、イートン・カレッジの主唱者、音楽監督という大役を務め、大英帝国勲章(MBE)を受勲した合唱指揮者ラルフ・オールウッドと、自身が主宰するイートン・コーラル・コーラスの選抜メンバーで構成される混声合唱団、ロドルファス合唱団。ベンジャミン・ブリテンの生誕100周年に発売されるこのアルバムは、2011年のロイヤル・ウェディングで作曲された「ウビ・カリタス」などで有名な合唱作曲家ポール・ミーラー(b.1975)とのカップリング。オルガン・ソロの「ビクトリアの主題による前奏曲とフーガ」に、元となったビクトリアのモテットと単旋律聖歌を組み合わせたプログラムも見事。ロドルファス合唱団のために書かれた「賛美せよ(Praise)」は世界初録音。熟達の合唱指揮で、英国国民的作曲家の優れた響きを味わえる。
