Volume 10 of this series captures the zeitgeist of 1996 urban dance music. There's a good selection of dance hits ranging from bass-thumping house tracks by Amber, Billie Ray Martin and La Bouche to sleek hip-hop songs by 2Pac, Coolio and Kris Kross. Thrown in for good measure are some grooving slow jams by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, D'Angelo and SWV. The addition of Los Del Mar's version of the inescapable global smash "Macarena" (one of two versions of the song in the Billboard Top 40 in October 1996, when this disc was released) makes this comp a must-have. The tracks are suavely segued into one another, insuring that the beats never stop.
