Given their knack for burning through drummers, it would seem that perhaps always having a fresh face behind the kit is the secret to Kataklysm and their trademark sound's longevity. Purveyors of their self-described "northern hyperblast," the band's eleventh album, Waiting for the End to Come, gives no sign that the Canadian death metal outfit is slowing down. The drumming is as ridiculously fast and relentless as ever, the riffs are huge and heavy, and the vocals would shred the throats of lesser mortals to ribbons, making for yet another in a long line of Kataklysm albums that deliver a solid blend of furious intensity and melody. ~ Greg Heaney
